Tony Tsendeas



Tony Tsendeas (Mr. Russell Walter Graham/Lester Thompson/Man) brought his one man “The Poe Show”, which he conceived and performs, twice to Rep Stage. The critically acclaimed “The Poe Show”, includes of a number of Edgar Allan Poe’s macabre tales such as The Raven and The Tell Tale Heart. Other credits at Rep Stage include directing “Wittenberg” and “An Almost Holy Picture” and appearing in “Las Meninas” in the duel role of the Painter/Doctor and last season as Mr. Amy in “Mary Rose” by J.M.Barries, also directed by Michael Stebbins. Formerly the Artistic Director of Action Theater and a Director-in-Residence with the Baltimore Shakespeare Festival, his work as an actor and director has received acclaim nationally and internationally. With Action Theater, Mr. Tsendeas directed and performed in “Beckettland”, for which he was nominated as best actor by London’s Stage Magazine. Mr. Tsendeas subsequently toured the Netherlands with “Beckettland”. Favorite roles include Jerry in “The Zoo Story”, Benedick in “Much Ado About Nothing”, and The Player in “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead”. Directing credits include “The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari”, “The Madman and The Nun”, “Othello”, and “Macbeth”. His play “The Adventures of Felix” was awarded a Maryland State Arts Council Playwriting Award. He has taught many workshops regionally and is an acting instructor for The Baltimore School for the Arts. Mr. Tsendeas is a member of Actor’s Equity Association.
