WSC Avant Bard's "The Tempest" has begun and has more Pay-What-You-Will previews this week June 1, 2 & 4 at 7:30pm, then thru the run til July 1, all Thurs 7:30pm and Sat 2pm shows are Pay-What-You-Will. Tickets at the door OR you can also buy in advance online for a $10 minimum.

Thanks to the Embassy of Canada in Washington DC, Spooky Action Theater is offering a special Canadian night in conjunction with its production of The Small Room at the Top of the Stairs by Canadian playwright Carole Fréchette. Saturday, June 2 at 7pm they'll host a FREE wine tasting, highlighting celebrated wineries from the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia and the Niagara Peninsula in Ontario. After toasting with them, you can get a ticket to see the play too.

La Ti Do Productions presents DC's first-EVER all-Asian/Pacific Islander cabaret to celebrate Asian American Heritage Month - featuring the region's fiercest Asian American talent with content from all different genres, and disciplines. Save the dates for Pay What You Will nights for "Botticelli in the Fire" May 28 & 29 at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, the final show in their 2017-2018 Season. Pay What You Will tickets are sold online through the TodayTix app and website. PWYW tickets previously were sold in-person at the theater, but they've moved to online sales to make these performances even more accessible.

Theater J offers Pay-What-You-Can previews for "Trayf" on May 30 and 31 at 7:30pm, and $30 discounted shows on June 2 at 8pm & June 3 at 7:30pm. Zalmy lives a double life: by day, he’s the rebbe’s loyal foot soldier, driving a tricked-out “Mitzvah Tank” through NYC with his best friend Shmuel. By night, he sneaks away from his Orthodox community to roller-skate, dance in discos, and listen to rock and roll. But when he befriends a zealous young man eager to be his student, the barrier between Zalmy’s two worlds starts to crack.

Spooky Action Theater presents THE SMALL ROOM AT THE TOP OF THE STAIRS starting with PayWhatYouCan performances on May 17 & 18 at 8pm. By Canadian writer Carole Fréchette, the play will be staged for the first time in Washington DC directed by The Hub Theatre Artistic Director Helen Murray. Performances run thru June 10.

Attention Theatre Technicians (or share with those you know who might be interested): The 2018 DC Theatre Technician Cattle Call will be held on Sun, April 22 and Mon, April 23 at Sidney Harman Hall from 9AM - 6PM. Sign Language interpreters will be available on both days from 2 - 4PM. All Monday Appointment Slots Are Full - But there are still slots available on Sunday. Sunday devoted to Carpenters, Electricians, Audio & Video Engineers, Props Artisans and Painters. Various theatres will present readings of NATURAL SHOCKS, a new play by Lauren Gunderson. She's made NATURAL SHOCKS available royalty-free for local readings across the US to raise money to address gun violence the weekend of April 20, 2018—the 19th anniversary of the Columbine school shooting and the day of the National School Walkout. WSC Avant Bard's presentation is Mon, April 23, 7:30 pm at 1st Stage in Tysons. Admission is free, all donations collected will be sent to Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, a 501(c)4 and part of Everytown for Gun Safety. Donations to Moms Demand Action may also be made online directly to a local state chapter. Other readings are April 20, 2pm from Tonic Theater Company at The Kogod Cradle/Arena Stage featuring Lise Bruneau; and April 30, 6pm at Round House Theatre featuring Beth Hylton
