The more you drink and tip, the more you'll help support them as we supports all theatres in the DC area. Come in costume or dazzle the crowd in one of the zany outfits provided on site. CulturalDC’s Source Festival is holding open non-Equity auditions to cast for the 2017 Source Festival - 9am-5pm on January 30 & 31 at Source (1835 14th St NW). DEADLINE to submit audition form: JANUARY 26 at 11:59PM. Source Festival plays will be run in rep throughout the Festival from June 9–July 2. All roles are paid and non-Equity. Actors of all demographics, including transgender and genderqueer actors, are encouraged to apply.

Round House Theatre announced an update on performances for their production of Caroline, or Change: The preview week schedule has been modified so that the Pay-What-You-Can performances are now Thurs, Jan. 26 & Wed, Feb. 1. The previously scheduled performances on Jan. 25 at 7:30pm and Jan. 28 at 2pm have been cancelled. Don't miss this award-winning musical starring Nova Y. Payton.

Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company holds PayWhatYouCan performances of Baby Screams Miracle on Mon, Jan 30 and Tues, Jan 31 at 8pm. Tickets are ONLY sold at the box office the evening of the performance, on sale at 6pm, but lines form as early as 4pm. Tickets for PWYC shows are not sold online. The production stars company members Sarah Marshall, Kate Eastwood Norris and Cody Nickell with Caroline Dubberly.

The Hub Theatre holds their annual New Play Festival this weekend January 28 & 29 which includes reading of new works - THE FOUND DOG RIBBON DANCE
by Dominic Finocchiaro, AQUIESCE by David Yee and THE LOCALS - a new addition to the Fest. DC Area Playwrights will write a 10 minute play about Home & Hope in the morning. The Hub will then rehearse the new play and perform it that evening for our audiences! All in one day. All by local playwrights. Tickets are FREE.

On Wed, January 18 7:30pm at Shakespeare Theatre's Lansburgh Theatre, the event WE ARE NOT DONE YET will take place. It's an original multimedia performance by veterans directed by acclaimed actor Jeffrey Wright about the intersection of grief, trauma, and survival in civilian and combat settings. The performance is a culmination of a workshop hosted by the USO of Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore. The evening will also include performances by contemporary dancer Tiffanie Carson, violinist Patmore Lewis, poet/author Seema Reza, vocalist Be Steadwell, six-string electric cellist Wytold, and short films by Syrian youth refugees. Seating is on a first-come basis. RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED HERE

Several DC area theatres are participating in The Ghostlight Project, on January 19. Groups will gather outside theatres to create a "light" for dark times ahead, and to make, or renew, a pledge to stand for and protect the values of inclusion, participation, and compassion for everyone tegardless of race, class, religion, country of origin, immigration status, (dis)ability, age, gender identity, or sexual orientation. In conjunction with their production of Copenhagen, Theater J has a myriad of discussions planned during the run. This Sun, January 15 after the show at 4:30pm will be "Nuclear Warfare Today" a panel discussion which will dive into the many different questions swirling around the issue of modern nuclear warfare. Panelists:
• Matt Nosanchuck: former Associate Director of Public Engagement who served as the liaison to the American Jewish community and on international issues under President Obama.
• Mary Lasky: Program manager at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory

GALA Hispanic Theatre holds their traditional Three Kings Day Celebration (Fiesta de los Reyes Magos) Sunday, January 8 at 11:30am and 2pm, featuring the Magi, live animals, local performers, a walk through the neighborhood, and gifts for every child. CulturalDC announced plans for their 10th Anniversary of the Source Festival. The 2017 Festival is a celebration of some the best plays debuted at the Festival over the last decade and runs June 9–July 2, 2017. Playwrights are invited to submit 10-Min scripts specifically related to COVERT CATALYSTS, a theme derived from PERFECT ARRANGEMENT, a hot from 2013 that will receive a new production. Seeking plays that examine an instant of revolution (on a macro or micro level) in an unexpected way. Submission deadline - Jan 6, 2017 (5PM EST). The six 10-Minute Plays chosen for production will be announced in March. For submission instructions and eligibility guidelines, visit the Source Festival website.
